Community Groups

Community Groups (Small Churches and Home Churches) give people a chance to grow closer to God through connecting in a smaller setting and sharing life together.

Small Churches

Small Churches are an integral part of New Life Church. They provide an opportunity to connect in a deeper way with others in a smaller setting. It’s a place where we study God’s Word, pray for one another, share our lives together and truly “become family” here at New Life.

Small Churches meet on Sunday mornings during Life Application Hour (9:50 to 10:50am).

There are many different Small Churches at New Life.  Feel free to drop in and visit...and find a place you can call home.  For more information, email Pastor Al.

Home Churches

Home Churches meet at various times throughout the week.

Our Christian lives are best lived out in small groups where we do life together – where we become family. It is in this safe, encouraging environment that relationships are built and real growth can take place in our lives. As a church, we long for every person and for every family to be connected in this type of loving and caring relationship.  We invite you to join one of our home churches.

For more information, contact Pastor Al (651/757-4168 or alananderstrom@newlife4u.org) or Lori Robey (651/757-4172 or lorirobey@newlife4u.org).

Leadership Development

Builders Track Training -- Imagine a local church where men and women were emerging as leaders who were clearly growing in their knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; where they were demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit in increasing ways and where they were effectively serving in ways that God had uniquely gifted them. These are precisely the type of leaders we are praying will emerge as a fruit of our ministry here at New Life Church. As we work toward that end, we would invite you to join with other men and women in our Builders Track Training to prepare you in the principles of Biblical knowledge (Head), character development (Heart), and ministry skills (Hands). Builders Track Training will meet Sunday mornings during the Life Application Hour, 9:50-10:50am. Contact Chris Martinson (651/768-7930), Joe Towner (651/458-1846) or Pastor Al (651/757-4168) for more information.

Current Studies:

Love to Pray - Wednesdays, 6:30-8:00pm
This study by Dr. Alvin Vandergrind is all about loving the one to whom you pray and learning to express that love in a continuing dialog with God. This study will help you discover how to become “devoted” to prayer as a way of life rather than as a duty. The book includes a study guide that provides weekly lessons. Each week we will complete a brief devotional and our primary focus will be to pray for the church, world, nation and needs of the body.

Business Is My Calling - Saturday Mornings, beginning January 28
Would you like to enhance your leadership skills in the business world? A 4-week study, “Business Is My Calling” will meet Saturday mornings beginning January 28 and continuing March 10, March 31 and April 28. Topics include: How to successfully lead change to continuously improve in meeting customer needs, utilizing proven concepts & Biblical principles; How the mighty fall and why some companies never give in; Why and how do I share my faith in the marketplace; How do I balance living generously for today and leaving a legacy. Led by Dave Seehusen, Dick Elliott, Don Stickney, Pete Katzung and Dan Wiersum, this course will meet 7:30 to 9:30am (continental breakfast at 7:20) in the Worship Center. Men and women welcome; bring a friend.

Equipping Fathers to Lead Their Families and Wives to Support Their Husbands
Husbands, wives and single parents are invited to participate in a series of studies and projects designed to equip and strengthen fathers and mothers in their God-given roles as spouses and parents.  Husbands will meet six times during the year to study key biblical principles and, in the weeks between meetings, commit to cultivating biblical habits crucial for leading their families.  Wives will do a series of parallel studies that support and complement what the husbands are learning.  Fathers are also encouraged to bring their teenage sons with them to the dads meeting.

These coordinated studies for fathers and mothers are led by the New Life Homeschool Family Ministry; however, all couples and single parents are welcome regardless of their school choice (public school, private school or homeschool) for their children, as the principles and habits apply to all families.

The dads will meet at New Life Church from 7:30 to 9:00am on the following Saturdays:  September 24, November 12, January 7, March 3, April 14, May 5

The moms will meet at Five Oaks Church (during moms meetings at the Homeschool ACES Coop) at 11:45am-12:30pm on the following Thursdays:  October 6, November 17, January 12, March 8, April 19, May 5
