Body Builderz

Vision: To teach, equip and encourage the children and youth of New Life Church to consistently participate in their local church body in service among their peers, intergenerationally among younger kids, teens and adults as well as outside the doors of our church as a heartfelt response to God’s love for them.

How it Works:   Kids sign-up to participate in ministry teams led by adult leaders who will train and lead the teams in their particular ministry.   Most of these teams function on a 6 to 8 week cycle.  The final Sunday in the cycle is designated as BodyBuilderz Sunday in which some of the teams who have been “in training” integrate with the adults to serve in the adult worship service.   The 3rd-6th grade BibleZone hour takes a break from their study to be used in-part for this age group to share what they have learned and experienced with their peers, encouraging others to participate.

MINISTRY TEAMS:

· Worship Team

· Choir Team

· Greeter/Server Team

· Drama Team

· Outreach Teams

*We are always open to adding new ministry teams as the Lord leads!!

VISION:  to partner with parents to love, pray for and teach the children of NLC about the character and purpose of the sovereign, triune God through His revelation in the Bible in a way that encourages them to personally know Him as their Savior and to develop a daily walk of growing love, submission and dependence on Him that results in a lifetime of joyful worship and service to Him.

Curriculum:   Children Desiring God

What We Do:

· Worship time of Singing (PreK – 6th)

· PreK-2nd

· Go to classrooms for engaging teaching, application and prayer in a quite, small group setting where teachers can get to know the kids in a quiet atmosphere.  Parents pick-up kids from the classrooms.

· 3rd-6th

· Large Group Teaching Time—Presents truth from God’s word in a visual, interactive way to engage children in learning.

· Small Group Application and Prayer Time - Children are divided into small groups in classrooms where teachers lead them through questions, discussion and prayer to encourage an understanding of how to apply the truths from the lesson to their lives.  They return to the gym for pick-up.

Parent/Student Take Home Sheets:  These are designed to engage parent and child in “bringing the lesson home” to interact with and pray over, developing deeper understanding and helping the child to integrate it into his/her life.  They are designed to create a partnership with parents as the primary conduit for instructing and training kids in God’s truth.

BodyBuilderz:  Kids in 3rd-6th grade are encouraged to sign-up and participate in ministry teams with adults and youth that serve our church body as a heartfelt response to God’s love for them.

Incentive Program:  To encourage kids to complete their Take-Home Sheets, memorize their Bible verses, participate in the ministry teams and begin a habit of daily Bible reading and prayer, kids earn points over a 6 to 8 week cycle.  On the final week, “BodyBuilderz Sunday”, prizes are given out based on points earned.
