Reaching Our Community

We want to be aware of the needs around us in our community and how our church can meet those needs and reach our community for Christ.  Below are some of the current opportunities in which you can get involved.  For more information, email Pastor Matt Swigart (mattswigart@newlife4u.org).

Habitat for Humanity:

We'd like to identify and connect with Woodbury residents who may be interested in and qualify as eligible applicants for Habitat for Humanity's Home Ownership Program. If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, please contact Pastor Matt Swigart (mattswigart@newlife4u.org).  Click the following link for more information on Habitat for Humanity's Home Ownership Program:  http://www.tchabitat.org/homeownership

Employment for Veterans

We want to identify and connect with Woodbury area residents who are military veterans trying to find employment in the civilian workplace.  If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, or if you would like to get involved in this program, contact Pastor Matt Swigart (mattswigart@newlife4u.org).

Woodbury Yellow Ribbon Network

The Yellow Ribbon Network of Woodbury was established in 2009, and awarded designation by Governor Tim Pawlenty on January 5, 2010. As a collaborative, grass-roots effort between concerned patriotic citizens and their military members/citizen soldiers, Woodbury leaders and volunteers have joined with the Minnesota National Guard to support military families from all branches of the military (Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy and Coast Guard). The Yellow Ribbon Network helps connect schools, local units of government, law enforcement, social services, churches, civic and volunteer organizations for the special needs of a military family during the deployment cycle. The team needs a pool of volunteers who could be called on for help. Volunteers are encouraged to connect via the WYRN website. Store to Door

Store To Door, a non-profit organization, shops for and delivers groceries and prescriptions every two weeks to aging and homebound seniors in the metropolitan seven-county area of Minneapolis and St. Paul.  It is the only non-profit in Minnesota to focus exclusively on grocery delivery.

If you could benefit from Store To Door delivery services, or if you would like to get involved in assisting with order taking, shopping and/or delivery for aging and homebound seniors, check out the Store To Door website:  www.storetodoor.org.  Questions?  Email Pastor Matt Swigart (mattswigart@newlife4u.org).

Twin Cities Church

Twin Cities Church is a sister church of New Life Church.  We’ve helped to start TCC West Side and continue on as churches that network together.

Twin Cities Church started as a small group of 14 people meeting in a Twin Cities suburban townhome led by a vision to start a church focused on walking in Jesus, loving one another, growing strong families, and engaging in good deeds. TCC-Uptown started when Founding Pastor George Stagg and his wife, Anna, moved to Southwest Minneapolis in the fall 2007. The church met in their home until it started renting the former St. Sabrina’s tattoo parlor in Uptown, right next door to Sabai Body Temple where their motto is “worship yourself,” which motivated TCC to include the Worship Jesus in their logo. By Christmas of 2008, they outgrew that spot and currently rent space from Grace-Trinity Community Church in Uptown. In late 2008, New Life Church of Woodbury, Betel Spanish Church, and Twin Cities Church joined forces to start a new church in West Side, St. Paul. TCC-West Side began meeting in June 2009 at the Betel facility. Starting in October of 2010, TCC-West Side outgrew the Betel facility and now hosts Sunday worship services at The Wellstone Center.
